Their heavy, theatrical style with pyrotechnics, body paint, and stage costumes has captivated fans all over the world.

Black metal has been synonymous with Norway since time immemorial. The biggest of them all is Dimmu Borgir, who since the mid-’90s have become one of the world’s leading bands. The 1996 album Stormblåst is not only a high point in the band’s own career, but is also regarded as one of the most significant and influential records in the modern black metal scene.

Stormblåst was the last album before they abandoned Norwegian in favor of English. Since then, the band has sold hundreds of thousands of records and built a devoted following around the world. Their latest album, In Sorte Diaboli, was their eighth and was released three years ago. Since then, we have impatiently been waiting for a follow-up.

The new album, Abrahadabra, which is due for release at the end of September, is, according to Dimmu Borgir themselves, the most meticulously crafted work they have produced in their thirteen-year career. “We have created a beast,” the band says.
