When The Fray first stepped into the spotlight in the early 2000s, the band introduced an introspective alternative rock style with a sound that was both expansive and intimate at the same time. Since then, the band has earned four Grammy nominations, three Billboard Music Awards, multiple Billboard Top 10 hits, and built a dedicated global fanbase. Their breakthrough song How to Save a Life spent 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a classic through its association with Grey's Anatomy, the Emmy-winning ABC series.
The album A Light That Waits is the band’s first full-scale release in years and marks the beginning of a new creative chapter with emotional clarity, cinematic songwriting, and the timeless sound that fans around the world have connected with for more than two decades.
Members Joe King, Ben Wysocki, and Dave Welsh have, for the first time, written all 11 songs together as a band, including the single Ice Cold Lakes. The band will now bring the new songs to the stage with their European run, the “Autumn Light Tour,” taking place this fall.
About the tour, Wysocki says:
“We have such great memories of touring in the summer. The vibe for us and for the fans is something that we've all really connected with and had a good time with over the history of The Fray. Getting these new songs in front of people is going to be exciting.”
